Hardware Changes that Speed Up Computer

Everyone wants to Speed Up Computer as slow computer takes more time to do work compare to faster one. Upgrading Hardware can help you a lot to Speed Up Your Computer. Also some software's don't work if your resources are less / if your hardware configuration is less, so upgrading your hardware can be a better
idea.
Increasing RAM
RAM (Random Access Memory) is used to perform all functions, its removes need to swap programs. When we run a application, microprocessor put executable files from hard disk to RAM. So when you run big application it will use more amount of RAM and will make your computer work slow. If your RAM is less some big application or new OS also wont get installed. So upgrading RAM can be better idea.
Things to Remember before Upgrading RAMHow much RAM is Installed
Check how many RAM slots your motherboard have and how many RAM are installed. For example if your motherboard have two Ram slot but you have installed only one RAM, then you can put one more in other slot without removing installed RAM.

How Much RAM Processor Supports
Check how much RAM your processor supports to find out whether you can upgrade your RAM or not. For example if your processor supports 8 GB RAM but you had already install 8GB RAM, then you cant upgrade it.

How much RAM Motherboard Supports
Check how much RAM is supported by your motherboard and also how much ram each slot support. For example if your motherboard and processor support 8GB RAM but each RAM slot support maximum of 4 GB RAM, then you have to install 2 RAM's of 4GB.
Type of RAM Motherboard support
Different motherboard support different type of RAM's. For example some will support DDR1, some will support DDR2, and latest one will support DDR3 RAM.Speed of RAM motherboard SupportSome motherboard wont support more MHz RAM.

Increasing Hard Disk
Hard Disk is the thing which stores all your things like music, videos, movies, software's, files and other stuff. So if Hard Disk is less or if partition is kept less and if most of space is used by it then your computer will work slow. Speed of hard disk / transfer rate also plays very important role in speeding up your computer. For example computer with 7200 rpm will do your work faster as compare to hard disk with 5200 rpm.

ALWAYS REMEMBER TO DEFRAG YOUR HARD DISK FOR OPTIMAL PERFOMANCE

Things to Remember before Upgrading Hard DiskType of Hard Disk motherboard supports
Find out what type of slot your motherboard have for installing Hard Disk  that is SATA or IDE and buy hard disk depending on it.

Size of Disk
How much size Hard Disk can be installed that is 2.5" or 3.5" normally 2.5" hard disk is installed in laptop and 3.5" hard disk is installed on computer.

Capacity of hard disk supported
Some motherboard support less space hard disk and some supports more.

Upgrading Processor
You all will be knowing that processor is brain of computer. All processes are taken place over here. Some CPU have more than one processor on single chip ( Multi-Cores) and they can handle more processes as compared to processor with less cores. Speed of processor also should be kept in mind which upgrading processor.
Things to Remember before Upgrading ProcessorType of Processor Socket on Motherboard
we should check what type of socket motherboard have and depending on that we should upgrade processor. If your motherboard is old with outdated processor, and if motherboard don't have socket which comes in new processor, then you need to buy new motherboard too and if you change motherboard mostly you need to change RAM.

Power Consumption
Mostly no need of checking power supply when changing processor, but i you have old power supply and want to put new processor then you need to check if power supply have enough wattage.
Cooling of Computer
You can change your CPU Fans or cabinet to provide better cooling. As if cooling is good then computer will work faster as compared to hot ones.
Switching to SSD
Installing Solid State Drives can help in speeding up as compare to hard drive. As solid state drive (SSD) dont have moving parts like Hard Drive which makes then to read and write faster when compared to hard drives, but before upgrading SSD to your computer make sure they are compatible with your motherboard.
